Did you know that two of the most iconic characters in horror history came out of the same conversation?

In June of 1816, Lord Byron was staying at a villa in Switzerland with Mary and Percy Shelley and John Polidori, when he proposed that they should all write ghost stories. Polidori would write The Vampyre in response, inventing the character of the aristocratic vampire, most famously employed by Bram Stoker in Dracula; while Mary Shelley would write Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, which requires no introduction.
